SYNHAWK is an AI research company focused on a single problem: ensuring that communication networks remain safe, transparent, and resilient in the age of AI.

SYNHAWK was founded by a team that spent years studying how AI generates and manipulates media — at Stanford, UC Berkeley, and Google DeepMind. We created some of the first realistic synthetic media simulations — intentionally, to understand the technology deeply enough to defend against it.
That research became the DeepSpeak and DeepAction benchmarks — evaluation frameworks now used across the field. Our work has been published at CVPR, ICLR, and IJCAI, and featured by CNN and Science.
We’ve advised governments — including the United Kingdom, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United States — on AI-generated media threats. Our models already operate in production at LinkedIn and YouTube.
Today, our research team operates from San Francisco, with engineering and product development based in Prague. We are now working with Tier-1 European telecom operators to bring communication integrity to production networks.
Mission:
Join the mission.
We’re looking for researchers, engineers, and operators who want to work on one of the most important problems in AI safety. If you’re passionate about protecting the integrity of communication, we’d like to hear from you.
